1. About these terms

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to the One Day For Them website, related donation appeals and any family-support information submitted through an approved channel. “You” means a visitor, donor, referrer, volunteer or other user. “We” means [LEGAL ORGANISATION NAME], using the working campaign name One Day For Them.

One Day For Them must not be described as a registered charity unless the legal organisation is registered and entitled to use that description. The final live page must identify the legal fundraiser clearly before asking for money.

2. Using this website

You may use the website for lawful, personal and informational purposes. You must not misuse it, interfere with its security, upload harmful code, impersonate another person or organisation, scrape personal information, publish a family’s private details, or use the campaign to pressure, harass or deceive anyone.

We may update, suspend or remove content where necessary for safety, accuracy, legal compliance, security or operational reasons. We try to keep information current, but humanitarian access, prices, needs and partner capacity can change quickly.

3. Donations and the payment process

The main site currently shows impact examples and does not take payment. When a payment link is added, the link should identify the verified payment provider and the legal recipient before you complete the transaction. The payment provider may apply its own terms, privacy notice, fraud checks and card rules.

A donation is a voluntary contribution. By confirming a donation, you confirm that you are authorised to use the selected payment method and that the information you provide is accurate. A donation receipt is not proof that every pound bought a particular item. The current amounts of £5, £10, £25 and £50 are planning examples, not guarantees.

Where a third-party payment page is used, payment information is handled by that provider. We should not ask for full card numbers, security codes, passwords or one-time passcodes by email, telephone or social media.

4. Non-refundable donations

Nothing in this policy removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights relating to fraud, unauthorised transactions, payment-provider rules or other mandatory legal protections. A refund may be delayed while we investigate identity, fraud or payment ownership.

5. How donations may be used

Donations may help fund food, clean water, blankets, shelter essentials, clothes, shoes, hygiene items, transport, distribution, safeguarding, monitoring, payment processing, administration and other reasonable costs of delivering the campaign. The final appeal must state whether gifts are restricted to a particular appeal or may be used for the organisation’s wider charitable purposes.

We aim for support to move hand to hand with a record of what was provided, when, where and through which verified partner. We do not promise that every donation can be physically delivered to a named person or that every gift can be matched to one item. Access, safety, shortages, family circumstances and local prices may affect delivery.

If a stated activity cannot safely or lawfully proceed, or funds remain after the need changes, the organisation may use the funds for a closely related charitable purpose consistent with the appeal and applicable law. Where a material change affects restricted funds, the organisation should explain it publicly and take any required legal or donor steps.

6. Named families and family support

You may be able to tell us the name of a family or person you believe should be considered for support. A referral is not an entitlement, contract or guarantee. It is a request for private verification and needs assessment.

• Share information only if you have permission or another lawful reason to do so.
• Use the secure channel provided; do not post names, addresses, telephone numbers or photographs publicly.
• We may check the information against verified lists and speak to authorised partners.
• We may decline, delay or redirect support where records cannot be verified or delivery would create risk.
• We will not publish a family’s identity to prove a donation was made.

Family support is subject to safeguarding, consent, privacy, available resources, security and operational access. Please read the Privacy Notice before sharing information.

7. Impact examples and reporting

The statements “£5 can help provide a day of meal support” and “£10 can help toward meals and shelter essentials” are illustrative planning examples. They are not a fixed price list or a promise that a specific person will receive a specific item. Family size, market prices, transport, access, exchange rates, supplier availability and partner charges can change the result.

We intend to publish clear updates such as the period covered, location or programme, number of households reached, categories of items delivered, partner role, fees or overheads where relevant, and any material changes. We will protect personal information and will not use identifiable stories or images without appropriate consent.

8. Gift Aid and tax

Gift Aid may only be claimed when the legal organisation is eligible, registered with HMRC where required, has a valid declaration and the donor meets the relevant conditions. We will not describe a donation as Gift Aid eligible until those requirements are confirmed. Donors are responsible for checking their own tax position and notifying HMRC if their circumstances mean they may owe additional tax.

9. Safeguarding, complaints and fraud

We will maintain a safeguarding policy for children and adults at risk, train people who handle referrals, provide a confidential reporting route and act on concerns. If you believe a child or adult is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency or protection service rather than waiting for a website reply.

Report suspected fraud, impersonation, misuse of a family’s information or misleading fundraising to info@palestianlondon.com. A named safeguarding lead and dedicated safeguarding route should be published before launch. We may suspend a payment, referral or account while a concern is investigated. We will not penalise a person for raising a genuine complaint.

10. Website content and links

Text, branding, original artwork and layout on this website belong to the organisation or are used with permission unless stated otherwise. You may not copy or republish campaign material in a way that misleads people about who is fundraising. Links to WFP, UNICEF, payment providers or other organisations are provided for information; those organisations have their own terms and are not automatically endorsing One Day For Them.

11. Availability and liability

We will take reasonable care to keep the website accurate, secure and available, but it may be interrupted, delayed or contain errors. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, third-party payment services, unauthorised access despite reasonable security, or a visitor’s failure to verify a payment destination.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or statutory rights.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the campaign, payment process, partner arrangements or law changes. The current version and date will appear on this page. If a change materially affects a donation already made, we will explain any required action or legal consequence.

13. Governing law

The final organisation should name the correct governing law and courts after taking legal advice. If the fundraiser is established in England and Wales, the final version may state that these Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and subject to its courts, while respecting any mandatory consumer or donor protections that apply elsewhere.
